Montessori on Wheels Board Members
Meisha Perrin, M.Ed
Meisha is a writer, educator, and the Executive Director of the Black Montessori Education Fund, an organization dedicated to making Montessori education more accessible to Black children, educators, and communities around the world. An accomplished Montessori teacher and program leader, she has spent over a decade working in Montessori environments globally—most often in Lower Elementary classrooms when not serving in leadership roles.
Deeply passionate about education, racial equity, environmental sustainability, and holistic health, Meisha has also dedicated years to grassroots organic farming and ecovillage initiatives across the globe. Her work in these communities reflects her commitment to increasing access to fresh, local, and organic foods for all.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of William Howard Taft University, Meisha holds a Master of Education in Montessori Education. Through her teaching experiences worldwide, she has gained firsthand insight into the power of true diversity within Montessori environments and how it strengthens communities.
Her desire to promote culturally relevant and inclusive Montessori materials inspired her to create Montessori Meisha, an online store dedicated to celebrating diversity in Montessori education.
Makomborero Carl Muropa
Makomborero Carl Muropa is a responsive leadership coach, human rights lawyer, and philanthropy strategist who helps leaders navigate transitions with confidence, clarity, and a deep sense of purpose. He works with founders, nonprofit executives, and social impact leaders to unlock their potential, strengthen their leadership, and build values-driven organizations.
Makomborero works as a Strategic Programs Consultant for Aslan Housing Foundation and a co-founding advisor of the African Montessori Hub. He is dedicated to decolonising education by centering Afrocentric tenets and wisdom in learning. His work bridges Africa and North America, grounded in a human rights–based approach to Montessori education in the African context.
Emily Madison
Emily Madison is the Founder and Executive Director of Montessori Collective, a non-profit organization based in Denver, Colorado that strives to expand access to public Montessori classrooms in underserved communities.
She has many years of experience as a classroom teacher, interventionist, and instructional coach.
Emily holds an AMS Administrator credential and an MA in Linguistically Diverse Education.
Trevor Imedi
With nearly 12 years of experience across Zimbabwe, China, and the United States, Trevor brings a deeply global perspective to Montessori education. He currently serves as a Lead Guide in an AMI Lower Elementary classroom in DC, where he is dedicated to cultivating independence, curiosity, and purposeful work in children aged 6 to 9.
Trevor is completing his Master’s in Montessori Education at Loyola University Maryland and holds an AMI Elementary Diploma, alongside a background in English and Communication. His work is grounded in careful observation, individualized instruction, and a strong commitment to creating inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.
Beyond the classroom, Trevor has designed academic programs, led literary initiatives, and supported students and families through diverse educational pathways. At the heart of his work is a clear and compelling vision: to deepen his practice in the United States and ultimately to establish a Montessori school in Zimbabwe, thereby expanding access to high-quality, child-centered education.
Trevor brings both thoughtful reflection and vibrant energy to the Montessori community, and we’re excited to have him with us today.
Gu Xiang Rong
Gu Xiang Rong is an AMI-trained Montessori Elementary Guide with nearly a decade of teaching experience spanning China and the United States. Her background includes elementary teaching in China, English instruction and teacher mentoring in Beijing, and Montessori leadership in Maryland, where she currently serves as a Lead Guide at Mater Amoris Montessori School in Olney, MD. She is committed to nurturing children's independence, curiosity, and whole-child development through prepared environments, nature-based learning, and strong family partnerships.
She completed her AMI Montessori Elementary Diploma at the Montessori Training Center of the North East in Connecticut (2023-2024) and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Xinyang Normal University, China (2010-2014). In her current role, she prepares lessons for children ages 6-12, fosters independence and responsibility, and incorporates outdoor learning into the classroom, building on a prior record of instructional leadership and curriculum development from her years in China.
Her core strengths include Montessori elementary instruction and classroom leadership, child observation and lesson planning, bilingual education in English and Chinese, parent and community engagement, nature-based and experiential learning, and teacher mentoring. Overall, she brings a deep commitment to child-centered, inclusive, and ecologically aware Montessori practice to her work with Montessori on Wheels.
